Parents have always been the primary educators and decision-makers in their children’s lives. When families are informed about their rights and understand the options available to them, they are better equipped to work with their local schools in ways that reflect their values and priorities.
That is why OPT-OUT CA has launched a statewide outreach campaign to inform California families about their existing parental opt-out rights and provide a simple, convenient way to exercise those rights when they choose.
But no statewide effort succeeds alone. It requires churches, nonprofits, parent groups, civic organizations, community leaders, and concerned citizens working together toward a common goal: making sure every parent knows that they have choices and understands how to exercise them.
