OPT-OUT Notice Submissions​

When you submit an opt-out notice through our website, we collect:

  • Child’s name, grade, and school or district
  • The specific opt-out request(s) selected
  • Date and time of submission

This information is used solely to prepare and deliver your notice to the appropriate school and/or district on your behalf.

Email Signups and Newsletter

When you subscribe to our email list, we collect your name and email address. We use this to send updates, resources, and news related to parental rights in California education.

Donations

When you make a donation, we collect your name, email address, billing address, and payment information. Payment transactions are processed by a secure third-party payment processor — we do not store your full credit card details on our servers. We retain donation records as required for tax and charitable reporting purposes.

Helpline Calls

When you contact the OPT-OUT California Helpline at (669) 307-1953, we may collect your name and callback number if you choose to provide them. Calls may be recorded for quality assurance and volunteer training. By calling, you consent to recording. We do not retain personal call information beyond what is necessary for follow-up or training purposes.

Automatically Collected Information

  • Cookies — Used to maintain session state, remember preferences, and support site functionality
  • Google Analytics — Collects anonymized data including pages visited, time on site, browser type, and general geographic region. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
